Description
The WOW Museum in Munich is a place full of optical illusions. Here you will find a fantastic mix of interactive learning and fun. You can experience this over two floors in a total of 16 adventure rooms. Each room offers a new perspective. In the museum are interactive exhibits, illusionary works of art or impressive installations.
Interactive WOW Museum
With "Willow's World", you can let Willow guide you through the museum. You accompany her on her magical journey through the world of illusions. Knowledge about the various phenomena of perception are teached in a playful way. The WOW rallies are another option. There are a total of three. The rallies are a way of getting to know the museum from a different perspective. Puzzles and tasks have to be solved in order to find the way through the labyrinthine rooms.
Away from the illusions
There is an exhibition in the museum consisting of Lego models. Here you can let your imagination be free and immerse yourself in the world of bricks. After a tour through the museum, the Curtain Call Bar is the perfect place to relax. Here you can round off the evening with a drink.
Historical Information
After travelling the world, Vanessa and Matthias Kammermann came up with the idea of opening a museum dedicated to optical illusions. They wanted to create a place that combines learning, fun, culture and immersive learning. Five years passed between the idea and the opening. The WOW Museum opened its doors in Zurich on 10 June 2020. Since then, it has established itself as a creative centre with more than 200,000 visitors and several awards. Planning for the WOW Museum in Munich began in 2023. It opened its doors in June 2024. Not far from Marienplatz, you can now find more illusions, new spaces and sensual art.
