Route description
Wimbachtal valley is a popular hiking region. Hike up the mountain to cross the gorge. You come past Wimbachschloss castle on your way, which used to be the Bavarian kings' hunting lodge. Afterwards, continue to Wimbachgrieshütte, a mountain hut.

Getting here
By car
Take B305 and drive through Engedey towards Ramsau. You will get to Wimbach bridge, where you turn left onto the federal roas. Parking available at Wimbachbrücke car park.
Public Transportation
Bus 846 gets you from Berchtesgaden railway station towards Hintersee. Get off at 'Wimbachbrücke', which gets you to the starting point of this hike.
