Description
Pullman City is not just an amusement park – it is a completely reconstructed Western town where the history of the Wild West comes to life. In Eging am See in Lower Bavaria, not far from the Bavarian Forest National Park, a place of authenticity has been created where true Western enthusiasts can live out their passion for American frontier history. With its faithfully reconstructed saloons, horse stables and wooden town houses, Pullman City offers an adventure for the whole family – whether it's a summer holiday, winter trip or spontaneous day out.
Shows and the Wild West brought to life
At the heart of Pullman City are the daily changing show programmes, in which the Pullman City cowboys demonstrate their skills. The American History Show provides exciting insights into the history of the American West, while the legendary Karl May plays featuring Winnetou and Old Shatterhand captivate audiences with breathtaking stunts, pyrotechnics and action-packed scenes. Knife throwers, lasso throwers and trick riders present spectacular feats that cannot be seen anywhere else. Live country music plays in the large saloon, while line dance groups invite visitors to dance. What makes it special is that the authentic area is inhabited by real ‘hobbyists’ from all over Europe, who have built simple wooden huts to represent and live the history of America.
Adventures for cowboys young and old
Pullman City is ideal for family outings. Children will find a comprehensive adventure programme on the large, hilly and partly wooded grounds: the adventure playground invites them to explore, the low ropes course challenges young cowboys who love to climb, and the El Dorado water playground provides refreshment on hot days. The gold panning camp allows them to pan for gold like real prospectors, while the children's railway chugs through the western town. In the Big Tipi, children can build drums, design Native American jewellery and make dream catchers at the Kids Club. A varied programme is added, especially during the holidays: children can have their faces painted like the indigenous people of America, take part in craft workshops and explore the grounds at night on adventurous torchlight hikes. The Pullman City mascots ‘Lilly, Billy and Desperado’ lead the little ones in the popular Kids Dance.
Events and annual calendar
During the summer and Whitsun holidays, there are special children's programmes, while famous country music and rockabilly festivals and the Western Horse Festival attract enthusiasts. The absolute highlight is the German-American Christmas market during Advent with live shows, Santa's Ranch and around 30 traders. In winter, there are traditional celebrations such as the Rauhnacht custom, a big New Year's Eve party and music-themed weekends.
Cuisine and accommodation
Pullman City is a complete Wild West town – and the dining options are just as varied. Visitors can enjoy refreshments in several saloons and restaurants. For longer stays, Pullman City Holiday Park offers a range of accommodation options: from the ‘Palace Hotel’ on Main Street to log cabins and lodges to authentic Indian teepees. An adjoining campsite completes the offer.
Historical Information
Pullman City was founded in 1997 by Peter Meier. The idea arose from the existing Western Horse Festival, which has been attracting enthusiastic Western fans for decades. Today, the site is home to regular events such as the legendary country music and rockabilly festivals, the US car meet, and the Harley Stampede and Western Horse festivals – true pilgrimage sites for enthusiasts.
