Route description
From Arco to Dro
The parking area in Arco marks the starting point of this tour. Firstly follow the asphalted path directly by the riverbed of the Sarca. Then, after only a few minutes of time, cross the river whilst using a bridge for pedestrians and bikers. Therefore you'll be riding along upstream on the right side of the river from here. Once in Moleta, bike along a small street up until the big highway – then cross the highway to ride on an even dirt road for about three kilometers until reaching the village Dro. The dirt road leads to a provincial road which you will follow for the next part of the tour.
By Drena Castle
Now the more exhausting part is to come: As the roads start to wind upwards the mountain until reaching the Drena Castle you'll be cycling on the most sporty part of the tour. You can take an extensive rest afterwards and take a tour around the castle. Next on the biking trip you will get to Maso Michelotti about 400 meters further on the road. After a seemingly even part a steep ascent will get you up the mountain again. But no worries, your reward for climbing up there is right to follow: The next part is exceptionally picturesque – a ten kilometers long ride through a beautiful forest until reaching the pastures of Malga Campo.
Rest with a view of the Monte Brento
Next you will get to a short, even part of the tour – ideal to draw strength for the last part of the trip. Make sure to stop at least once to take a look at the magnificent panorama here where you can see the Monte Brento, the Monte Casale and more of the wonderful Brenta Dolomites. Moreover, the next part of the trip will yet be another steep ascent uphill with an average gradient of 25% - the steepest part uphill of the entire tour! You want to be well rested for this piece of the tour.
Over Carobbi to Traila
It feels great to relax your muscles on the following downhill part. After a sharp little turn you will reach extensive meadows on an even ground. Whilst getting to the next junction take a turn to the right in the direction of Carobbi. Shortly after you will get to a fork in the road between two houses here and will reach a steep downhill part, whilst choosing the way to the right at the fork. After this downhill fun you will get to another junction, this time picking the way to the left to reach the old village Traila.
Down to the valley and back to Arco
Further along on smaller roads you will get to the idyllic looking district Pianura that lies between beech and chestnut trees. From there the roads lead your way further down the valley that starts to become more narrow because of huge rock faces.
After hitting the next junction head to the right and cross the highway at the stop sign. When reaching the little town Moleta take the biking trail to your left which will pleasantly lead your way back to the starting point of the tour in Arco.
