Route description
The starting point of this tour is the parking lot by the bridge across the Sarca River in Arco. Bike on the Via p. Caproni Maini alongside the Sarca from there. First you will ride on an asphalted road up until the town Prabi – here a little detour to the church Sant'Apollonare is definitely worth it.
Further, in Ceniga you will get to the Roman Bridge, or in Italian the so called “Ponte Romano”, as the road starts to become a little bit more bumpy. Then bike further on the Via Cesare Battisti Dro, which will make you cross the village Oltra, before reaching the motocross terrain Ciclamino in Pietramurata. There are training walls for classical hiking available here.
Straight ahead, the crossing of the state road from Arco to Trento awaits you – this will initiate your tour back to the start. Next you will shortly get to the “Marocche” biotope – a debris dessert from times after the ice age that reminds one of a lunar landscape. The biotope is a natural protected area – there is only one path through it with some places to rest and marvel at the beauty of nature.
Now follow the Sarca up the river on an uneven road until you get to the Gardesana Occidentale, yet another large road. After crossing the road you'll be on a newer biking trail that leads your way to the village Dro. Once in Dro, you only have to follow the road to the end of the village and to another crossing of the Sarca. Afterwards you will be in Arca again in no time.
