At the beginning of Christmas season, Rosenheim´s Max-Josefs-Platz is transformed into a Christmas market in pre-Alpine style. Especially known for heart-warming lighting and wonderful decorated sales booths, Rosenheim´s Christmas market delights many people every year. This ambience is highlighted by an extensive stage program which is something for everyone.
Rich selection for anyone
Almost 50 lovingly decorated sales booths offer a special view, as there are several fairytale, animal and christmas figure on the roofs which are all individually designed. Next to a lot of delicacies the booths also provide all kinds of decorative items, handmade gift ideas and natural products like crib figures, sheep´s wool products, candles, soaps, spices, teas, nepalese knitwear and special Christmas decoration.
Food and drink is provided
There are also a lot of culinary highlights at the Christmas market, including savory specialties such as fire sausage and bio duck burgers or fish, soup and sweet specialties. Vegetarians will also find a rich selection of delicious food, like flame bread, garlic and herb baguettes and raclette cheese bread. To warm up, the wide options of mulled wine and fruit punch are highly recommended.
Offers for families
Every Wednesday is family day at the Christmas market in Rosenheim. There will be special discounts at every sales stall and the Kasperle is performing at 2 and 3 pm for free on stage. It´s also possible to meet the Christmas elf Wiggerl, with which you can ride through the city center on a horse-drawn carriage between 1:30 pm and 3 pm. This is free of charge and has a surprise for all children.
How to get there
With the car
Following the Heilig-Geist-Street behind the central bus station you can find the parking house "P4 Mitte" where you can park with costs. The parking house is only 250m away from the Christmas market and barrier free.
With public transport
Not far from the Christmas market you can find the bus station "Stadtmitte" which is reachable with the bus routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26 and 29.
