Brine thermal baths Bad Elster

The brine thermal baths Bad Elster are located in the Saxon Vogt region which lie at the Czech border. The region is one of the oldest mineral- and moor cure baths in Germany. Together with the Albert bath and the bath and sauna world Bad Brambach it forms the Saxon national baths.

In the pools with different salt and brine concentration and variety of temperatures you can strength the areas of your body.

The salt lake, for example, offers the experience of floating through the high concentration of salt. It helps the vegetal nervous system to find harmony and balance which activates the regulation mechanisms and resilience of the body.

In the sound bath you can get the whole experience for your senses. The influence of floating in the warm water gives you a warm inner feeling of calm. With visual effects and music, all your senses get activated.

The Hutzn bath, which means "talking together" in the Vogt dialect is for longer bathing and talking with other visitors. The massaging glands with different intensities make it a wonderful calming place.

Treatment - also for your belly 

The thermal- and sauna restaurant offers a great variety of mediterranean cuisine and homemade pasta which build the perfect ending of the visit. There is also an offer of small snacks and dishes for vegans as much as for people with gluten- oder lactose intolerance.

For those who want a delicious cocktail or another refreshing drink between the sauna visits, the thermal- and sauna bar has a variety of opportunities.

The restaurant is open from Monday to Sunday from 12:00 to 20:00 o'clock. The kitchen closes half an hour before the restaurant's closing time.

Important: You do not need money in cash for the restaurant visit. The costs are booked at the chip of your bracelet, which you get when checking in. You can pay when checking out.

The thermal baths Bad Elster have a huge variety of saunas, whereby everyone can find the one that suits them best.

The salt-sauna, for example, offers a harmonic interaction of warmth, humidity and smells. It cleans the skin as much as the respiratory system with aerosol which is positive for the whole organism. The temperature in the sauna is 45 degrees. 

With 50 to 60 degrees, the musical sauna is a little bit warmer and is the perfect start for your sauna day. You can warm up in the atmosphere of organic forms which remind of the classic instruments of the Vogt region. With calming music, you can enjoy the world of harmony and rhythm.

The traditional Finnish sauna with its high degrees is given by the panorama sauna. It is the place to be for those who like it really warm and want to experience an infusion while enjoying the view at the Elster river. The temperature in this sauna is between 80 to 90 degrees.

The hotspot of the sauna area is the moosman sauna. It is the hottest one with 85 to 95 degrees and trains the immune system and the vegetal nervous system for inner regulation. The atmosphere reminds of the nature of the Vogt region.

Between all the saunas there is the Hot Elster. With 38 degrees and its low water level, it creates a strong warmth stimulus. Another special thermal experience. 

Every Monday on 18:00 o'clock (except on holidays) there is sauna for females taking place.

Besides the pools and saunas, the thermal offers therapies and cures especially for cardiovascular system, orthopedics and female health.

You can choose between a variety of baths and applications with different remedies like carbonic acid or moor.

There is also the offer of massages which you can book in advance. You can choose from a variety of types of massages, from the classic one, to ones that are particular for one area of the body. Furthermore, you can also book physical training, movement bath for one, Kinesio Taping or technics of the Liebscher & Bracht-method.

Another special thing is the forest bath in which you can enjoy the smell of the trees and natural oils which reduce stress. The experience takes place with a guide.

By car

If you come from the highway A72, you take the exit road "Plauen Süd" and follow the signages of the direction "Bad Elster".

The train station "Bad Elster" is about two kilometers away from the bath.

You can take the bus 94 to the center and get out at the bus stop "König Albert Theater".
