Route description
This hike brings together the Ore Mountains' pristine nature with its cultural history. You start the tour at an important early industrial production site, Saigerhütte, and continue through the wild romantic landscape of Schwarzwasser valley.

Interesting facts
- With an overall length of 23 km the hike is currently the longest hike in Saxony available on TouriSpo.
- In case of good weather conditions, the hike can also be done without bringing your hiking boots. There are places to buy beverages and food along the track. However it’s always recommended to bring enough water and food along with you.
Getting here
By car
Follow motorway A72 to Chemnitz Süd. Continue on B173 and B174 to marienberg. Change onto B171, which leads to Olbernhau. In town, follow Grünthaler Straße along Fröha river to Saigerhütte. There is a hiking car park there.
Public transportation
The hike can be accessed by train. Olbernhau-Grünthal railway station is only a few minutes away from where the tour starts. Trains from Chemnitz call there.
