Route description
On the top of the Monte Specie/Strudelkopf there is located a viewing platform which indicates all the names of the montain ranges and the mountain summits all round.
Starting from the view of the Three Peaks in Dobbiaco/Toblach the path no. 34 takes towards the Val Chiara/Helltal uphill through the forest. The hike continues on an old military path from the First World War which is secured by a wire cable. Further it passes at the ruins of the Malga Oberhammer hut from where it goes on the left side to the Monte Specie/Strudelkopf.

Interesting facts
- You're traveling a distance of 6 km on this strenuous trail. The hike is therefore not too long. Average length of all hikes in South Tyrol is 12 km.
- You're facing an uphill climb of 967 vertical meters on this hike. The hike takes you to an elevation of 2,305 m.
- You shouldn’t forget to bring your hiking boots. There are some sections on the trail where sturdy footwear is required. If you get hungry along the way, there are places to rest and get food. Nevertheless it’s recommended to also have enough water and food in your backpack when hiking or biking.
