Route description
On the way to the Malga San Silvestro/Silvesteralm hut you can see cows and horses. The small chapel of San Silvestro/Silvester was constructed in the 12th century and is decorated with murals from the early Middle Ages.
The hiking tour starts at San Silvestro/Wahlen which is a fraction of Dobbiaco/Toblach. It is possible to park the car at the "Schönegger Säge". The path n. 1 goes in the middle of the wood, in the Valley San Silvestro, till the Malga San Silvestro/Silvesteralm hut. The path to reach the chapel of San Silvestro passes at the left side of the hut.

Interesting facts
- You're traveling a distance of 6 km on this moderate trail. The hike is therefore not too long. Average length of all hikes in South Tyrol is 12 km.
- You're facing an uphill climb of 418 vertical meters on this hike. The hike takes you to an elevation of 1,887 m.

- You shouldn’t forget to bring your hiking boots. There are some sections on the trail where sturdy footwear is required. If you get hungry along the way, there are places to rest and get food. Nevertheless it’s recommended to also have enough water and food in your backpack when hiking or biking.
