Route description
This beautiful hike starts at the church car park. Follow the signs of a white butterfly on purple background. You come across several viewing points and information boards about the local fauna. Through the forest and along slightly ascending paths, you eventually return to Mühlhofen.

- You're traveling a distance of 9 km on this easy trail. The hike is therefore not too long. Average length of all hikes in the Rhineland-Palatinate is 43 km.
- The hike is one of the family friendly trails in the region. The hike is also perfect if the kid’s wanna bring their dog on the trip.
- Hiking boots are not required, but the hike might be more enjoyable with sturdy footwear (especially in wet conditions). If you get hungry along the way, there are places to rest and get food. Nevertheless it’s recommended to also have enough water and food in your backpack when hiking or biking.
Getting here
By car:
Take motorway A65, and exit at Rohrbach. Via Rohrbach, you drive to Billigheim-Ingeheim. Drive on to Mühlhofen, where you can park your car at the church, where the hike begins.
Public transportation:
Another option is to get a train to Landau or Bad Bergzabern. There you can change onto a bus to Mühlhofen.
