Route description
Starting at the station Grütschalp (1486m above sea level) follow the hiking trail Grütschalp for about 500m. Afterwards the tour leads through a forest uphill to Pt. 1767. From there take the mountain trail along alpine meadows to Allmendhubel (1907m above sea level). Not only a rustic restaurant and a Kneipp path are waiting for you but also a huge playground and a children's adventure trail.
Places along the route are Grütschalp - Bletschenalp - Maulerhubel - Allmendhubel
Interesting facts
- You're traveling a distance of 5 km on this trail. The hike is therefore not too long. Average length of all hikes in the Bernese Oberland is 12 km.
- You're facing an uphill climb of 535 vertical meters on this hike. This makes the hike one of the 3 hikes with the most ascent in the Bernese Oberland. The highest point of the track is 1,931 m above sea level.
- Don’t hesitate to take your kids along on this hikes.
- Make sure to bring sturdy footwear on this track. Hiking boots are highly recommended. If you get hungry along the way, there are places to rest and get food. Nevertheless it’s recommended to also have enough water and food in your backpack when hiking or biking.
Highlights of the tour
The fantastic view of the triple peaks Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau as well as the view of the Lauterbrunnen valley and the Trümmelbach gorge make this hike a unique experience.
In addition you'll get to see a wide variety of mountain and alpine flowers. For kids the highlight of this tour is of course the slide right at the restaurant at Allmendhubel.
Variations
Version A:
For this version you will just continue your trip via Suppenalp - Schiltalp - Spielbodenalp - Mürren. Additional length is 2.4 km.
Version B:
Starting at Grütschalp you will have to walk north towards Marcheggwald Saustal and then to Marchegg. Then you will take the trail back to Pt. 1767. Afterwards the tour continues to Allmendhubel as described above. The additional length is 2.3 km and there is an extra altitude difference of 90 which means it will take you about an hour longer.
