Historical Information
Landeck Castle lies on the Via Claudia Augusta and was probably built in the first half of the 13th century on the towering rock above the Inn by the Counts of Ulten and later extended by Count Meinhard II of Tyrol - Gorizia. In 1282 this was already the seat of the Landeck court with a sovereign guardian. The castle experienced its heyday under the knights of Schrofenstein.
