Description
Hainich Canopy Walkway is located at Hainich National Park. At a length of 534m/1,752ft, it leads through the treetops of the primeval forest. The path is open year-round; free guided tours are also on offer. Information boards teach you about the tree diversity and inhabitants of the national park. The park starts at a height of 10m/33ft, and gets up to 24m/78ft high, providing an impressive view over the national park.
The 44m/144ft high tree tower looming high above the treetops features the best panoramic viewe. In good weather, you can see all the way to the Thuringian Basin. At the inside of the tower, you can find an exhibition about the geology and inhabitants of the tree crowns. Several pendant bridges and net elements are another special feature of this canopy walkway - so make sure you have a head for heights.
