Actinon Health Spa Bad Schlema

Bad Schlema stands for regeneration, tranquillity and the healing power of natural mineral springs. The value of its unique water was recognised early on. At the beginning of the 20th century, the town gained international recognition through its radium baths, attracting visitors from around the world seeking relief from pain through the healing water.

The Actinon Health Spa, which opened in 1998, is now a central part of Bad Schlema’s spa facilities, combining medical treatments with public bathing and relaxation areas.

Bathin Area

At the Actinon, a 900-square-metre water area is available, divided into indoor and outdoor pools. Water temperatures of up to 35 °C allow for year-round use.

The indoor area features a large pool, a whirlpool, and various massage jets and bubble features. A wide glass façade offers views of the surrounding landscape. In an adjacent section, therapy pools are used primarily for health-related treatments. In 2023, the saltwater area was added, comprising a floating pool and facilities for salt inhalation. A relaxation room with heat lamps is also available.

From the indoor area, the outdoor pools can be reached by swimming through. Here, visitors will find massage jets, a current channel, and a swimming pool measuring 16.6 metres in length. During the summer months, sun loungers are provided in the outdoor area.

Therapeutic Treatments

As a radon health spa, the Actinon offers a range of therapeutic treatments. The therapy area provides bath and movement therapies using radon-rich water. In addition, treatments with radon air as well as drinking cures are available.

The sauna area comprises eight different saunas, including a crystal sauna, a hay sauna, and an African dry sauna. In the harmony sauna, regular infusions are offered using a variety of fragrances such as eucalyptus, peppermint, spruce needle, and strawberry ice.

A sanarium and a steam bath complete the facilities. After using the saunas, visitors can cool down in the showers or at the ice fountain, while a spacious relaxation house with panoramic views and a sauna bar provide places to unwind.

The wellness area is guided by the principle “water, warmth and well-being.” The treatments draw on influences from various cultural traditions, including African, Oriental, Asian and Mediterranean practices. Predominantly natural products are used.

The range of services includes full-body massages, sound massages, and Turkish soap foam massages.

By Car

The spa can be reached via the A72 motorway. Depending on your direction of travel, note the Zwickau Ost or Stollberg West exit. From Zwickau Ost, continue via Wildenfels and Hartenstein to Bad Schlema. From Stollberg West, follow the B169 to the town. The spa is located directly next to the spa park.

By Public Transport

The nearest railway station is in Aue, approximately four kilometres away. Bus services from Aue and Schneeberg run to Bad Schlema.
