Description & Details
Miramar is one of the largest and most popular water parks in Germany. Its numerous pools and water slides provide plenty of aquatic action, while the thermal spa and sauna areas offer an array of options for wellness and relaxation.
The Pool Area – Fun For the Whole Family
Jump into the surf of the wave pool, conquer the climbing elements in the water or simply let yourself drift in the current channel – the Miramar pool area certainly isn’t short on action. Youngsters can splash around in the jungle bay with its mini-slide, go on an African safari, romp around in the bouncy castle or explore the huge playground. Anyone looking for a more laid-back atmosphere can take it easy in the massage pool with bubble loungers or unwind in the gemstone whirlpools. In summer, the sizeable outside lawns are perfect for sunbathing, where the cool waters of Lake Waidsee are just a stone’s throw away. The wave pool also hosts an exhilarating laser show after dark from October to March. If hunger strikes, bathers can head for the Mirabell Restaurant or the Billabong Bar for a range of tasty food and drinks.
Slides Galore
The giant slide system is located at the heart of the pool area – a feature which stands out far beyond the water park thanks to its colourful towers jutting skywards. This area is a true paradise for water slide fans, no matter whether you prefer gentle fun or white-knuckle action. Children and not-so-daring adults can shoot down the Pirate slide, Crazy River tube slide or Crocodile slide. A ride on the Green Shark or Blue Whale cranks the excitement factor up a notch, while the AquaRacer tube slide features lighting effects to boost the sense of speed even further. However, the three new water slides are the undoubted main attraction here. The Hurricane Loop is a pure adrenaline rush featuring a 10-meter (virtually) free-fall drop combined with a double loop to send pulses racing. The 133-metre tubing slide with various cross-sections and tight turns is also a real challenge, while the splash funnel slide with connected boomerang is unparalleled worldwide. You first enter the funnel before sliding out into a halfpipe – action and fun guaranteed!
Experience the Power of Gemstones
Relax, unwind and leave everyday life behind you for a few hours in the 1,500-square-metre thermal spa landscape, which is decorated with a vast array of amethysts, agates and rock crystals. According to the health teachings of Hildegard von Bingen, a famous nun, these stones radiate energy and healing power. On top of that, the inviting turquoise water (34°C to 36°C) in the salt & crystal spa nourishes body and mind, while the amethyst and rose quartz pools in the interior are the perfect tonic for tired muscles. These pools also feature various bubble loungers, massage jets and wellness showers for an added relaxation factor. The pleasantly warm rock crystal outdoor pool (36°C) boasts a beautiful sun terrace and, similar to the two indoor pools, serves up wonderful panoramic views of the nearby Lake Waidsee.
Rest and Recuperation
The salt relaxation room is the perfect place to unwind. The air here is enriched with nourishing minerals and trace elements specifically designed to help you recharge your batteries. The ambient iodine, magnesium, calcium, potassium, bromine and iron all have a beneficial and healing effect on the body. You can also relax in the fireplace lounge, which offers plenty of comfortable spots to put your feet up. One unusual way to relax is the singing bowl ceremony, which invites guests twice a week to immerse themselves in a world of sound and take a relaxing journey within. The calming vibrations pass gently through the body, restoring inner balance. In the rose quartz pool, a free half-hour water gymnastics program is offered on a regular basis, while the “AQUAfit” physiotherapy practice offers beneficial medical massages and medial wellness applications.
Saunas
The sauna paradise area of Miramar has been designed specifically with your relaxation and well-being in mind. In the interior, the orange/lemon sauna, bio-sauna and aroma sauna all exude southern flair and are the perfect place to sweat away the stress. You can also get away from it all in the aroma grotto, the ice mist grotto, the caldarium or the steam bath. The park landscape outside the sauna paradise is also dotted with further saunas, with the stone oven sauna, the Aqua-Viva sauna, the mill wheel sauna and the hunter sauna all offering you the chance to take a brief break from civilisation.
Unique infusion ceremonies
One memorable highlight here is the new large-capacity kelo sauna. This is the world’s second largest sauna and can accommodate up to 250 guests. The natural sweat-promoting Kelo pine wood offers a pleasant and healthy climate for your sauna experience. The high point of a sauna day here is without doubt the “Maximus” infusion. As part of this ceremony, three sauna masters provide a unique sauna experience in an extraordinary atmosphere. Several rounds of infusion feature different fragrant essences poured onto the heat and intensively circulated within the sauna. In Miramar you can also enjoy numerous other infusions, including specialities such as ice glasses, salt peeling or a honey scrub.
Cooling down and relaxing
The “dream house” is the perfect place to unwind and relax after the heat of the sauna. With soft music and subtle lighting, you can lie back on a deckchair and switch off completely. The outdoor area also features a 34°C saltwater pool. Lake Waidsee also directly borders the open-air sauna area and there’s no better way to cool down after a sauna session. In summer, there’s even a sandy beach to relax on, while the Oase sauna restaurant ensures food is to hand if hunger strikes.
