Description
"Z'Bach" - an exceptional 18th century farmhouse in Wildschönau - harmoniously combines a museum and event rooms under one roof.
The mining museum
A walk through the mountain farm museum "z'Bach" is a journey through time into the world of the Wildschönau ancestors. Over 1200 exhibits tell stories and tales about the meagre life of Tyrolean mountain farmers. The exhibits were gathered from all over the valley. Although these are exhibited here unused, their counterparts are still in use today, e.g. the wooden form for butter washing, the large pans for preparing family meals, the "combs" for picking berries, the scythes, the kitchen stove, the tiled stove, the copper vessels, the tools for working the wood and much, much more.
Craft market in the museum - every Thursday
The craft market takes place every Thursday. At the "market in the museum" numerous craftsmen show their skills. Woodcarvers, woodturners, shoemakers, felters and basket weavers work according to traditional techniques. You can also marvel at Tyrolean arts and crafts such as gold embroidery, making straw figures, glass and watercolour painting. Fresh farmhouse bread is available to take away from the old oven and fragrant "Schmalznudeln" (lard noodles) are baked in the old museum kitchen. So stop by and combine your visit with a walk along Franziskuweg!
