Swimming Lake
The lake is famous for accommodating a biodiverse flora and fauna and for being the smallest swimming lake of all lakes in the Leipziger Neuseenland area. It is 31ha (77 acres) large and was created after the open-pit mine was closed here in the 1990s. In 1998 it was then officially opened as a swimming lake. Along the lake's west bank one finds a spacious and sunny open-air lawn with several shady trees as well as a beach.
