Route description
Pirklrundweg is a very easy loop trail suitable even for families with kids or elderly people. It is a good way to get to know the destination if you just arrived at Pruggern. At the top of the cabin village you can find a huge sign with all the hiking trails around the village. Follow the dirt road along track number 100 until you reach a sign "Pirklrundweg" pointing to the north. Follow the sign across beautiful pasture land and through the forest until you reach the base station of the mountain railways.

Interesting facts
- You're traveling a distance of 3 km on this easy trail. The hike is therefore not too long. Average length of all hikes in Styria is 15 km.
- You're facing an uphill climb of 159 vertical meters on this hike. The track is therefore relatively flat. The high point of the hike is located at an elevation of 1,270 m.

- Hiking boots are not required, but the hike might be more enjoyable with sturdy footwear (especially in wet conditions). If you get hungry along the way, there are places to rest and get food. Nevertheless it’s recommended to also have enough water and food in your backpack when hiking or biking.
Getting here
By car
If you travel from Salzburg, leave the Tauernautobahn A10 at Radstadt and follow B320 until Pruggern. Hüttendorf Pruggern is signposted. Follow the winding road until you see all the nice mountain cabins.
