Route description
Your tour starts in Oberlech-Schlössle. Alternatively, you can also start at the Oberlech cable car. At the beginning you start on a comfortable footpath towards "Gaisbühelalpe".
From the "Gaisbühelalpe" you continue to the Auenfeldsattel. Nearby is also the spring of the Bregenzerach. Follow the river through the Auenfeld to the Batzenalpe and further to Schröcken.
Where to eat
There are refreshments available at the beginning and end of the tour in Oberlech or Schröcken. If you want to strenghten yourself in between, you can make a detour to the Auenfelder Hütte or to the Berghotel Körbersee.
Interesting facts
- You're traveling a distance of 9 km on this easy trail. The hike is therefore not too long. The average length of all hikes in Vorarlberg is 15 km.
- You're facing an uphill climb of 210 vertical meters on this hike. The highest point of the track is 1,790 m above sea level.

- Make sure to bring sturdy footwear on this track. Hiking boots are highly recommended. There are places to buy beverages and food along the track. However it’s always recommended to bring enough water and food along with you.
Highlights of the tour
Just before Schröcken you pass the Fellealpe. From there you have a unique view of the Achschlucht and the waterfall there.
You should also enjoy the rich alpine flora during the entire hike.
A visit of the "Alpmuseum" shows visitors the alpine life 500 years ago to the present day.
Equipment
For the hike you need good footwear, appropriate sportswear, sun/rain protection and sufficient drinking water.
