Route description
Starting point is the city center of Kitzbühel. You take Schwarzsee street orienting yourself towards north- west to the lake called Schwarzsee. Past Schwarzsee you follow Reither country road through Reith near Kitzbühel, till you reach Stanglwirt. From there you can switch from the country road on to the cycle track.
On the cycle track you bike through Going and Ellmau till shortly after Ellmau. There you bike on to Eiberg national highway and down Eiberg till the river Inn. At the second roundabout after the descent directly at the river Inn, you turn into the Inn cycle track. Then you follow that track till the german- austrian border. There you turn right away from the cycle track and towards Niederndorf. After passing Niederdorf and reaching Sebi you continue, shortly after Sebi, left on Pöttingersteigung.
Through beautiful landscape you pedal uphill towards Walch lake overlooking the „mountain of the wild emperor“. Walch lake is ideal to take a rest and refresh oneself. (You can get some food at Cafe See la Vie and the pastry shop Praschberger.)
Back on the bike, a couple of kilometres passed Walch lake you turn right onto a small side street and get through Bichlach to Schwendt.
Uphill you bike passed Schwedt, Griesenau and Gasteig over Huber hight. A releasing descent follows, down to St. Johann.
In St. Johann you switch to the left side of the valley, pass the Spannplattenwerk Egger (chipboard factory) on Römer street back to Kitzbühel.
Interesting facts
- With an overall length of 88 km the bike trail is among the 3 longest bike Trails in Austria available on TouriSpo.
- You're facing an uphill climb of 900 vertical meters on this bike trail. This makes the bike trail one of the 10 bike Trails with the most ascent in Tyrol. The bike trail takes you to an elevation of 802 m.
- There are places to buy beverages and food along the track. However it’s always recommended to bring enough water and food along with you.

Variations
For climbers and everyone who wants to overcome some more altitude difference, there is an option. Biking over Astberg mountain from Reith, near Kitzbühel, to Ellmau. (at Reith city center keep left)
