Beach

The beach at Zinnowitz is located on the northern coast of the island of Usedom, stretching between the pier and the dunes near the Achterwasser lagoon. With its fine sand, gently sloping shoreline, and a spacious promenade, the beach is perfect for both relaxation and active pursuits.
As part of Usedom’s more than 42-kilometer-long coastline, the beach at Zinnowitz is one of the island’s most popular stretches. Nestled between the Baltic Sea and the Achterwasser, the fine white sandy beach spans up to 40 meters in width and slopes gently into the sea. From the town center, visitors can access the beach directly via the promenade lined with resort architecture.
In addition to the main swimming area, the beach offers designated sections for nudists, dog owners, and sports or activity zones – ensuring there’s a perfect spot for everyone, whether you're looking to relax or get active by the water. The entire beach area is surrounded by natural woodlands of beech, oak, and pine trees, providing shade and inviting paths for strolling and unwinding.
Things to do
Zinnowitz combines seaside relaxation with a wide range of leisure activities – from water sports and cycling tours to cultural experiences. At the designated sports beach, visitors can enjoy areas for beach volleyball, yoga, and fitness training. Those looking to get active on the water will find options for surfing, sailing, diving, and stand-up paddling.
Just a few minutes' walk from the beach lies the idyllic harbor on the Achterwasser lagoon. It’s a favorite gathering spot for sailors, canoeists, and water trekkers seeking the quieter side of the island. With 62 berths, sanitary facilities, a restaurant, and bike rentals, the harbor serves as a perfect starting point for tours of the surrounding area.
The offerings are rounded out by a diverse events and cultural program. Whether it’s children’s activities at the bandstand, markets in the town center, or performances at the “Blechbüchse” theater and the Vineta Festival – there’s no shortage of things to do in Zinnowitz beyond the beach.
