Description
At about 700 metres above the abyss, the viewing platform stands not far from the Triassic Park on the Steinplatte and offers you a magnificent view of the Lofer mountains, the Zillertal and Kitzbühel Alps and the imposing Wilder Kaiser.
The surface of the viewing platform is completely opaque and thus provides a solid base for anyone who feels insecure. If you are brave and free from vertigo, you can venture onto the coarse-meshed grating and take a look down through the transparent glass surfaces!
The platform in the shape of a fan coral is also the highlight of several hiking routes, such as the Triassic Trail, and is only a stone's throw away from the Triassic Centre. A visit is worthwhile for anyone who is out and about on the Steinplatte.
How to get there
There are two ways to get to the viewing platform. From the northwest, you can take the A8 Bad Reichenhall exit via Lofer and finally reach Waidring an der Steinplatte. Alternatively, you can also get to St. Johann via Kufstein or Kitzbühel. From there it is about 15 minutes to the valley station of the gondola lift.
