Description
Switzerland's longest summer toboggan run is located on the Pilatus mountain range, south of Lucerne.
The ride starts right next to the Fräkmüntegg mountain station at an altitude of 1,416 meters. On the toboggan run, which consists of a 1,350-meter-long chrome steel channel, you’ll navigate numerous steep curves, plunge into “dragon holes” (tunnels), and zoom over built-in jumps. You set the pace yourself. Once you reach the bottom, a lift comfortably takes you back to the start.
If you’re hungry after the thrilling ride, a kiosk at the mountain station offers drinks and snacks. You can enjoy these on the large terrace, which features plenty of seating and lounge chairs. A fire pit is also available.
Near the toboggan run is the world’s steepest cogwheel railway on Mount Pilatus near Lucerne. The Pilatus cogwheel railway is known for its extreme steepness; it allows you to reach the summit of Mount Pilatus and also offers spectacular views.
