The Alpenstraße outdoor swimming pool is one of the most popular leisure facilities in Salzburg in summer. On a total area of 20,291 square metres it invites you to swim, splash around and sunbathe.

Three pools provide space for swimming and splashing around

The swimming pool for active sportsmen is 25 x 16 metres. On the other hand, those who only want to cool down are in good hands in the 19 by 16 meter non-swimmer pool. Small water rats will also find a 50 square metre children's pool with a slide. The water temperature in the pools is 22 to 24 degrees Celsius.

Leisure activities in the outdoor pool

Access to the open-air swimming pool and the lying areas is via the indoor swimming pool AYA-Bad. The outdoor facilities also include a children's playground, sanitary facilities, a buffet and a drinking fountain for the necessary refreshments in between, hot water showers, a beach volleyball court, table tennis and a slackline.

Dogs are not allowed in the Alpenstraße outdoor swimming pool!

As the name suggests, the outdoor swimming pool is located on the Alpenstraße in Salzburg. Access is via the indoor swimming pool AYA Bad in the Franz-Hinterholzer-Kai.

By car:

Coming from the Old Town, follow Rudolfskai along the Salzach River in a southeasterly direction. At the Salzburg district court, the road leads into the B150/Hellbrunner Straße, which you continue to follow straight ahead. At the Franz-Hinterholzer-Kai exit, turn left and then immediately right. Follow the Salzach until you reach the indoor pool.

By public transport:

Take the B270 bus from Salzburg Hauptbahnhof (Forum) in the direction of Tamsweg Bahnhof. After twelve minutes or five stops, get off at Akademiestraße. From here it is only a four minute walk to the bath. Follow the alpine road in southeasterly direction and turn left after a few meters. Follow the road until you reach the Salzach and then keep right until you reach the AYA bath.
