Route description
Starting at the mountain hut Knödelhütte, you'll be following the forest road for appr. 800 m (875 yards) and then turn into the forest path (hiking path no. 6A/05/E6). Stay on this way for 15 minutes until you reach the forest road again. Keep on the forest road for one more kilometre (0.6 miles) and then turn left. After appr. 30 minutes spent on forest and mountain pasture paths you'll reach Pack, where you'll find many nice places serving meals and beverages. You'll continue southwards following the slightly ascending path passing Packsattel. From here you'll have 7 more kilometres (4.4 miles) left to overcome until you reach the final destination of this leg, the Hebalm.

- You're traveling a distance of 11 km on this moderate trail. Average length of all hikes in Carinthia is 15 km.
- You're facing an uphill climb of 365 vertical meters on this hike. The highest point of the track is 1,411 m above sea level.
- Don’t hesitate to take your kids along on this moderate hikes. The hike is also perfect if the kid’s wanna bring their dog on the trip. (See all dog friendly hikes in Carinthia.)
- Make sure to bring sturdy footwear on this track. Hiking boots are highly recommended. If you get hungry along the way, there are places to rest and get food. Nevertheless it’s recommended to also have enough water and food in your backpack when hiking or biking.

Getting here
By car:
Take the A2 Südautobahn (motorway), then exit at Pack. At Packsattel you'll turn left into the direction of Knödelhütte.
Alternatively, you can take the Bundestraße B70 until Packsattel and then continue towards Knödelhütte.
You'll find car parks at the Knödelhütte.
