Route description
Short hike around Lajen
From the city center in Lajen walk via the Kirchgasse alley onto the Vogelweider Rundweg (translated: Vogelweider circuit route), which is marked with the number 5. From there you take a left and continue hiking on the circuit route Kasserol, which leads you around the Wasserbühl. To help you orientate yourself use the signs marked “Wasserbühl” and “Wetterkreuz”. After a while you should get back on a solid road, but make sure you keep right so you will stay on the circuit route Kasserol. Continuing on a more even path through the woods you will soon be back in the city of Lajen.
Where to eat
On the trail itself there are no possibilities of stopping and getting something to eat. But you can stop in Lajen either before or after your tour.

Highlights of the tour
The hike is not very long and is therefore perfect for families with smaller children. The trails are also very leveled, so neither the bigger hikers nor the smaller hikers should be overly strained. The trail is constructed so that you could bring along a stroller, if the smaller kids are too tired to walk. The Wasserbühl is definitely worth a visit. It used to be right next to an old village and is famous for findings from the Bronze Age. If you came on this hike to get a view over Lajen, you should visit the look-out point “Wetterkreuz”. You will not only get a fantastic view but you can visit old historical sites from prehistoric times.
