Description
A special sight in a special environment
The 80 meters high cliffs near Würgassen already exist for thousands of years. With their size of natural constitution, they are a real claim of fame. Since spring 2011, there is another special sight on one of the seven cliffs - the Weser-Skywalk. It forms a viewing platform on three levels. One of them reaches out five meters to the front, by what you can enjoy an incredible view over the valley of Weser, the castle and monastery of Herstelle and the villages Herstelle, Würgassen and Bad Karlshafen. The skywalk is surrounded by huge beech and oak trees.
For those who love nature
Besides the cliffs and plats, which are important for the value of the nature reserve, there are also animals and plants which actually only exist in the mediterranean area. Only the warmth of the southern cliffs enables those creatures being alive in this region.
A tip for those who like to walk and learn something new
There is a route, starting at the end of Würgassen which leads to the Weser-Skywalk (about two kilometers). On eight stations you can learn something about wood, the forest and its animals. By that playful way, the hike is an adventure for children and also for their parents. For getting back to the valley, there is the route "Klippensteig" (about three kilometers), which forms kind of a loop road with the Weser-Skywalk.
Really old trees
The forest which surrounds the Weser-Skywalk is special because of its age. Only the fact that the mountain is that steep, saved the forest from being cleared. Some of the trees are older than 300 years!
How to get there
By car
The address for the navigation system is "auf der Schanze". Please only use parking spots which are signed as those.
For the visitors who do not want to do the small hike, there are parking spots which are only 300 meters away from the Weser-Skywalk. The address for the navigation system is "Weser-Skywalk-Parkplatz, Solling".

From the ZOB station "An der Burg" in Beverungen, use the bus line 220 to the station "Beverungen-Würgassen, Bürgermeister-Rox-Platz". From that point, you have to walk about 600 meters to the starting point of the tour.
