Historical Information
The roots of Tullamore D.E.W. date back to 1829, when the first distillery opened in the town of Tullamore in the heart of Ireland. The brand owes its name to its later manager, Daniel E. Williams, whose initials can still be found on every bottle today. Under his leadership, the distillery developed into a flagship of Irish whiskey artistry: modern, innovative, yet deeply rooted in tradition.
Tullamore D.E.W. set new standards with its characteristic “triple blend”, a mixture of grain, malt, and pot still whiskey. Over the decades, the whiskey has become internationally renowned and is now one of the best-selling Irish whiskeys worldwide. The modern distillery in Tullamore, which opened in 2014, combines state-of-the-art technology with the brand's long history, bringing the past to life for visitors.
