Historical Information
Founded in 1817 in the southern Eifel, the Bitburger brewery is one of the most important premium breweries in Germany. Around 4 million hectolitres of beer are produced annually. This makes Bitburger one of the largest national pilsner brands.
Bitburger combines a close connection to its homeland with high quality standards. The brewing water is extracted directly from the rock strata of the Bitburger Triassic syncline from a well around 300 metres deep. Most of the raw materials come from the high altitudes of the Eifel.
