In the north, the day will be partly cloudy with sunny intervals. The forenoon is mostly cloudy, refreshed with some occasional rain in the night. Most parts in the south are covered with clouds today, with a high near 11 °C. Most parts in the east are covered with clouds today, with a high near 4 °C. The west will be partly cloudy in the morning. In the noon, the weather changes, giving way to some snowfall. Heavy snowfalls are predicted in the midday, whereas snowfalls are to ease in the evening and partial cloudiness is forecast. Temperatures are not far from normal, but the breeze from the south keeps it from feeling as warm as it could if there were no wind.

Historic Cities and UNESCO World Heritage

Russia is home to numerous cultural attractions. As the two biggest cities, Saint Petersburg and Moscow are especially popular with tourists. Saint Petersburg, also known as "Venice of the North", impresses with its historic city centre. The entire old town is part of UNESCO World Heritage.

Cruises on river Volga are highly favoured as well. One of Russia's most popular circuits is the so called "Golden Ring", including more than 20 cities northeast of Moscow.

A 9,300 kilometre ride on the Trans-Siberian Railway is a unique experience. On the way from Moscow to Vladivostok, you come across a number of important cities as well as regions such as Lake Baikal, another UNESCO World Heritage site.
