Russia is home to numerous cultural attractions. As the two biggest cities, Saint Petersburg and Moscow are especially popular with tourists. Saint Petersburg, also known as "Venice of the North", impresses with its historic city centre. The entire old town is part of UNESCO World Heritage.
Cruises on river Volga are highly favoured as well. One of Russia's most popular circuits is the so called "Golden Ring", including more than 20 cities northeast of Moscow.
A 9,300 kilometre ride on the Trans-Siberian Railway is a unique experience. On the way from Moscow to Vladivostok, you come across a number of important cities as well as regions such as Lake Baikal, another UNESCO World Heritage site.
