Description
The programme of the Kunsthalle Krems as the international exhibition house of the province of Lower Austria ranges from 19th century art, classical modernism to contemporary art. The programme focuses on the art of the 20th and 21st centuries
As an important enrichment of the European exhibition scene, the Kunsthalle Krems has dedicated itself to the rediscovery of seemingly well-known masters of modern art and international artists who have not been shown in Austria or have rarely been. The intensive engagement with Austrian as well as international contemporary art is taken into account by means of both monographic and thematic exhibitions.
At the core of the exhibition philosophy is the networked synopsis of the old and the new, which creates exciting perspectives and opens up new approaches. Unusual constellations are represented in a sculptural way, complex points of view are taken up and conscious confrontations are sought. Accordingly, the presentation of the works from 150 years of art-historical history will span different epochs and encompass different styles and genres. The aim is always to build bridges to contemporary art.
