Visit the hut museum
You can start directly from the bus station. Simply follow the promenade until you reach the small port. Cross the street and if you feel like it visit the hut museum (Museo del Cappello).
To the holy trinity of Ghiffa
Afterwards take the stairs up to a small chapel. Another ascent via stairs and you will reach a church from where you should continue on a tarred road. The road eventually turns into a path and leads to the holy trinity of Ghiffa.
Take a rest at the Sacro Monte complex
When you reach the junction take the path to the right which will guide you to the chapel Abraham. Keep following that trail and you will get to the Sacro Monte complex, which is definitely worth a visit. Furthermore it offers many picnic tables which makes it a great place to take a rest.
From Caronnio to Biganzolo
Via the nature path you will walk passed chapel Cappella del Porale and a small hamlet called Caronnio, towards Intra. Leave the path to walk towards Pollino. Again you will pass some small villages and its chapels until you reach Biganzolo.
To the Parco Cavallotti in Intra
Continue towards the hills of Pastura, where you turn towards Intra. Now cross Ponte Vecchio to get to Parco Cavallotti and at the same time to the bus station at the port of Intra. You reached the destination of your tour.
Where to eat
You have the possibility to get some food at the beginning or the end of the tour. The towns Ghiffa and Intra offer various bars and restaurantes. During the hike you can stop at Sacro Monte's restaurant.
Interesting facts
- You're traveling a distance of 14 km on this easy trail. Average length of all hikes in Piedmont is 12 km.
- Don’t hesitate to take your kids along on this easy hikes. The hike is also perfect if the kid’s wanna bring their dog on the trip.
- Hiking boots are not required, but the hike might be more enjoyable with sturdy footwear (especially in wet conditions). If you get hungry along the way, there are places to rest and get food. Nevertheless it’s recommended to also have enough water and food in your backpack when hiking or biking.

Getting here
By bus
If you want to travel by bus the easiest way is to take the one from Intra towards Cannobio. Exit the bus in Ghiffa and you will be right at the starting point of the tour.
By car
If you want to travel by car best is to park your car in Intra and take the bus from there.
