Route description
On a forest road, a 6 km (3.7 miles) long ascent leads to the Mörsbachalm, which can be a starting point for many possible hiking tours. It follows the wind gaps of the surrounding mountains. The first leg leads to the Mörsbachwirt, where you will turn right. After a short single trail you'll get to the forest road again, where a short but intensive ascent awaits you along the ski slope. The second leg leads you to the car park of the Riesneralm, where the tour continues along the street leading towards Feriendorf Hinterwald. After 18.5 km (11.5 miles) you'll turn left on the hiking path, which can be cycled on as a simple trail. Along this way there are two power places, where you can spend a quiet moment relaxing and generating new energy. The path will enter the forest road before the Lärchkaralm. From here, you'll have to cycle 2 km (1.2 miles) uphill to get to the Stalla Alm. After having had a break and tasted a regional Steirerkasbrot, the path leads downhill to the Lärchkar, where you will ride along the forest road to the valley. You can comfortably cycle the last 3 km (1.9 miles) on a paved road to Donnersbachwald.
