Description
Located at the heart of the majestic woods of Pieniny National Park in the High Tatras, Bachldeka Treetop Walk is the first canopy pathway in Slovakia. Come here to explore rare animals and plants that can be found in only very few places in the world.
The pathway is up to 24m/79ft high and 1,234m/4,049ft long, and boasts breathtaking views in all directions. The various stations make a walk exciting and informative for visitors of all ages. At the end of the walkway, you get to the 32m/105ft high observation tower, where you enjoy a 360-degree view of the smallest high mountain range in the world; the Slovakian lowlands south of the Tatra, and the Lesser Poland Voivodship. To speed up your way back, you can slide down the 60m/197ft long spiral slide.
Historical Information
Bachledka is Slovakia's first treetop walk, and was opened by Erlebnis Akademie AG in 2017. The established elements of learning and experience stations, observation tower, and slide that are also present in the company's former canopy paths (in Germany and Czech Republic), have been taken into account for this first Slovakian walkway, too. The treetop walk is located amidst the ski resort Bachledka Ski and Sun.
How to get there
From Poprad, you can get to Bachledova Dolina via Route 534. Turn right onto Route 537 at Vysoké Tatry. After around 14km/8.7mi you turn left onto Route 66, which leads to Bachledova Dolina. From there, a gondola takes you to the treetop walk.
