Description
Frankfurt Zoo is one of the most visited zoos in Germany, attracting nearly 840,000 visitors annually. It spans 11 hectares and houses over 5,000 animals from approximately 470 species. The animals are accommodated in 34 enclosures and animal houses, designed to replicate their natural habitats.
During your tour, you will first come across Ukumari Land, home to spectacled bears, forest dogs, and giant anteaters. Continuing your journey, you will encounter the Cat Jungle with its lions and tigers, the large pond inhabited by waterfowl, the Grzimehaus housing nocturnal animals, and the Exotarium, which houses invertebrates, fish, amphibians, and reptiles. Additionally, you'll encounter meerkats, various primates such as gorillas and orangutans, various bird species, bactrian camels, alpacas, and giraffes. Your visit will also bring you closer to seals, penguins, rhinoceroses, and hippos. At specific times, you can witness feeding sessions.
For families with children, Frankfurt Zoo offers a playground, a petting zoo, and various interactive stations where kids can learn about the animal world playfully and connect with nature. The zoo also provides restaurants and cafés where you can take a break and enjoy a meal. Naturally, there's a souvenir shop on-site where you can purchase mementos.
How to get there
