Description
The Harz treetop path is located in the middle of Bad Harzburg's spa gardens, at the foot of the Burgberg in the Kalten Tal. At a height of eight to 22 metres, the 1,000-metre-long path runs through the treetops and offers a great view of the Harz National Park and the Lower Saxony State Forests.
It starts with the 30-metre-high entrance tower and its viewing platform. A total of 18 platforms with rest areas and information stations on nature, the environment, the timber industry and the history of the Harz Mountains await you on the trail. There are also around 50 adventure elements, such as the adventure bridge with seven wobbling stations. The geology station on the rock face is also interesting. From Nature meets History to Nights in the Treetops and the guided tour From the Roots to the Treetops, which also includes the Tree Root Trail - if you want to learn more about the nature around the trail, you can choose from a variety of adventure tours.
The Harz treetop path is designed to be accessible by wheelchair and stroller. The gradient is nowhere steeper than 5.8%, so that wheelchair users or families with prams can also manage the trail without any problems. Only the top viewing platform at the entrance tower can only be reached by stairs.
When you get hungry, you can choose between the 'Wipfelgastronomie' beer garden at the pavilion in the Kurpark and the 'Sagenhaft' restaurant at the BurgBergCenter. The treetop path is open all year round and shines in a very special light during the Salt and Light Festival at the Treetop Light Festival and the Treetop Christmas Festival. The Skyrope high wire park with stations up to ten metres high is also located right next to the entrance crown. You can also fly through the air for six minutes in the nearby BaumSchwebeBahn.
